Go Over The Top at Camp Caroline
Our Senior High camp is planned so that it can be the highlight of your entire year. We begin Sunday afternoon and are finished on the following Saturday after brunch. There are seven campers per counselor in a cabin, and you can request to be with friends or get to know some new friends.
The level of activities available is raised to something special at High School camp. The Craft Shack is full of unique crafts, including ceramics and leatherwork, or maybe get your hair painted! You'll play fun field and wide games that you may not be able to play anywhere else, like our famous game called "Kingdom Quest." Swimming in our indoor pool or soaking in the hot tub is always a big hit. There's the high adventure of the Climbing Wall, High Ropes Course, and our Vertical Playground! The Group Initiative Sites and Zip-Line are yearly favourites. In your free time you may also get to shoot hoops, play a round of Frisbee Golf, or hang out with friends.
High School camp is also made memorable with an incredibly fun Beach and B-B-Q Day at a local lake on Friday. You'll want to sign-up a team for our highlight Beach Volleyball Tournament.
Activity Programs for High School
(must choose one of the following:)Our Activity programs add great excitement and experience that go beyond the Lodge activities. And for High School the programs really open up at Camp Caroline - too bad each person has to choose one and only one for their week.
We will again be offering our sports programs in Volleyball & Basketball, in which you can keep up or improve your skills while learning to live out your faith in the world of sports. Under the challenging instruction of staff members who’ve played at the college level, you’ll get approximately six hours of play and practice. One caveat in Gr 10/11/12 – this program is reserved for those who have at some point played on a school team.
Level 2 Horsemanship Program is for those who have taken at least 1 year of riding at Camp Caroline or equivalent. It involves a more intensive 6-hour Program with a lot more time in the arena to help you be a better rider. There are several Day Trip programs that take you away from the Lodge for one of your days at Camp Caroline. There's the Whitewater Rafting Program on the Red Deer River about an hour and a half southwest of Camp Caroline. The Paintball Program will take campers near Olds to play three hours of paintball games with their peers. The Climbing and Rappelling Program is not far from there where you play on a 90 foot cliff for the day. All these trips are lead by professionals that Camp Caroline has been working with for many years.
And the programs don't end there. If you like water, the Waterski Program is a great way to spend a day away from the Lodge at Burnstick Lake just 10 minutes from Camp Caroline. Our trained and qualified staff can take you for a Hiking Program day trip to see the sights from mountains an hour or so from Camp Caroline that rise 7500 - 8500 feet above sea level. And for some extreme sports action you've got to try the Mountain Board Program - 4 hours of great downhill fun on a snowboard with wheels along the wild trails of Camp Caroline. The Paintball Program will take campers near Olds to play three hours of paintball games with their peers.
